How To Recover Android Phone from Forgotten Security Lock Pattern

Filled under: , ,

After trying 5 continous wrong attempts to Unlock any device , all Android device for security reason goes to temporary Lock mode for 30 secs. But after too many attempts it goes to permanent Lock mode.

There is a way which is know by all to recover Android device from such permanent Lock mode is by using associated Gmail ID & Password. So first I am describing that simple method , if it worked then good & if not then try the 2nd method.

1 ) Method of Unlocking Device after Forgetting Pin

Continue to enter the unlock pattern five times until you are prompted with forgot password (forgot pattern in some handsets) at the bottom right side of the screen.
Tap on the Forgot Password option and you would be prompted to sign in with the existing Google or Gmail account information. You need to provide the ID when you first register or activated your phone. If you have that, it would be easy to get in for you and then change the unlock pattern (atleast by now you would be remembering your unlock pattern).
If this process doesn’t work for you try the 2nd Method

2) Method of Unlocking Device after Forgetting Pin

<<<This is the latest technique / way to Unlock / recover / reset any Android Device.>>>

This Process doesn’t need to enter any gmail Id, password . even if you don’t have Gmail A/c then also this it will work. Just what you need to do is Flash a zip .

I will explain everything , I mean what is the technique hidding behind this zip. As you know cwm recovery can flash update.zip , & in every update.zip there is Updater script. Now with proper coding of update script anyone can delete , install , run , extract any files or data. so I just used that method to delete the stored Password.

Gesture.Key & Password.key these are the two things where Android stores the used Pattern & Pin Password information respectively. So with the help of a code & updater script we arranged anyhow to clear the information from those two files. Tested & Working fine all Gingerbread Device.

Above are just informative text for those curious people like me, Now Coming into point.

  • Copy it to your Phone's SdCard.
  • In Recovery select “Wipe the cache partition”
  • Now select “Install Zip From Sdcard” and then select “apply /sdcard/update.zip”
  • Reboot.

This method is tested & working in Gingerbread , hope it will work for you too. Enjoy..

    1. sorry , there is no other method to access your phone other than the above mentioned methods. if not, you can reset your phone to factory mode which may loose all your data.
